Everyone seems to want a refugium these days
Having a refugium on your marine aquarium is becoming increasingly popular, and it’s easy to see why. First of all it is a way of improving conditions in your main aquarium, helping to stabilise water parameters, and it can also provide a steady stream of microflora such as Copepods to your main tank. This is one of the best ways to try to replicate natural diets for all your fish, corals, and inverts too.
Plus you get to keep something cool!
Whether it’s a non-reef safe starfish, or a terrifying Mantis, there’s loads of cool animals that you couldn’t easily keep in your main aquarium, but, will love life in your refugium.
