All new orders placed up until 11:59pm Sunday 8th Jan will be delivered by 31st Jan.

All orders after 8th Jan will be delivered 13th to 28th Feb.

If you are collecting then we will email you to let you know when it is ready for collection, and the same dates apply as above.

We operate online only. We are not open to the public, except by prior arrangement for collections. Usually for collections your order will already be packed in a sealed polybox, but, sometimes we may need to pack your order when you arrive. You cannot make in store purchases of livestock.

Delivery update and FAQ for January deliveries & collections.

Hi everyone,

While most of you are regular customers and familiar with how we arrange delivery and get your items to you, we’ve also had quite a few new customers this month and last month that may not know how we arrange delivery etc, so I’ve made this FAQ to answer the most commonly asked questions.

How many deliveries do we have to do?

Now we are into January I’ve been busy starting to organise all the deliveries going out this month. We currently have (as of 1am Saturday 7th Jan) 1,402 orders, which is around 600 polyboxes to go out this month so far so we are certainly going to be busy!

All new orders placed between now and 11:59pm Sunday 8th Jan will also be added to that, so by Sunday night we will probably have around 660 to 740 polyboxes to be delivered in January. That’s going to keep us pretty busy, so to make sure they all get delivered in January all new orders placed after 8th Jan will go into a separate delivery pile to be delivered 13th Feb through to 28th Feb. This allows us to concentrate on getting all the animals in, quarantining all the fish, and packing and delivery the 660 to 740 polyboxes this month.

How will my order be delivered?

Around half of all of those deliveries (around 350 deliveries) will be hand delivered by our own people directly to you. I look through all the orders and pick out those where we have a lot of delivery addresses all close to each other, or that are all along one motorway etc, and we also pick out any deliveries that are near to the shop, as well as any orders that are for express delivery (express delivery is free on orders over £2,000). We then hand deliver all of these orders, and all other orders are sent out by Royal Mail Special Delivery before 1pm service.

I will be collecting my order

If you are collecting your order then it is the same process as orders for delivery. So as soon as everything on your orders is ready for collection we will email you to let you know it’s ready, and then arrange when you can collect it. See below for more information on when we will email you.

How do you let me know when my order is coming?

When your order is all in stock and ready for delivery we will email you a day or two before we dispatch. this email will let you know the first available date for your delivery. However, to make sure you will definitely be there to take delivery we will only post if we have received a reply to the email from you confirming that day is ok. In the email it will tell you when you need to reply by to give us time to pack your order etc.

What if i can’t take delivery that day?

If you can’t take delivery on the first date offered then that’s not a problem. Simply reply to the delivery booking email saying you can’t take delivery that day, and we will let you know the next available date for delivery (usually the following week).

When will my delivery be coming?

We have around 20 livestock orders arriving throughout January. Whilst we have a lot of corals and quite a few inverts already in stock, most of you have ordered at least 1 or 2 things that haven’t arrived yet.

Once everything has arrived, and we are happy that it is ready to go, we then allocate the stock out to orders, we try to give priority to the oldest orders first. Once we have everything for your order we will then email you to arrange delivery.

Because shipments coming in sometimes change days, or the amount sent varies, or sometimes if the animals have had a long journey we hold them for longer before we send them out, we avoid booking out deliveries in advance, and prefer to wait until everything is here and we are happy with it. Once we are happy it is good to go we will usually email you pretty much straight away to arrange delivery with you. Don’t worry we will let you know as soon as it is all ready to go.

When will my items be in stock?

Everything ordered before 11:59pm Sunday 8th Jan is for delivery to you by 31st Jan. Any orders after 8th Jan will be delivered 13th to 28th Feb.

While we cannot give exact delivery dates until after everything for your delivery has arrived, settled, etc, we do know roughly when some items are due in so here are some rough guidelines.

Fish, Clams, Chalice corals, Blood shrimps, Cleaner shrimps, & weird stuff!

If any of your orders include any of the following: Fish, Clams, Chalice corals, Blood shrimps, Cleaner shrimps, Mithrax crabs, Night shrimp, Monkey shrimp, Male fiddler crabs, Debelius reef lobsters, or Yellow sea cucumbers, then your delivery will not be ready before 15th Jan and your delivery will be 15th Jan to 31st Jan. As soon as all of your delivery is in stock and ready to go then we will email you (usually that same day or the next day) to arrange delivery.

Other orders

If you have ordered any: Fish, Clams, Chalice corals, Blood shrimps, Cleaner shrimps, Mithrax crabs, Night shrimp, Monkey shrimp, Male fiddler crabs, Debelius reef lobsters, or Yellow sea cucumbers, then your delivery will be 15th Jan to 31st Jan.

Most people have ordered fish, clams etc, and so most deliveries will be 15th to 31st Jan. If you haven’t ordered any of those things yet (then why not because they are awesome) your delivery may be ready before 15th Jan, but, don’t worry if it is we will let you know straight away!

Can I add to my order?

Yes anything you add to your order up until 11:59pm Sunday 8th Jan and that will be sent with your other items when they are all in stock and ready to go. To add to your order complete checkout as normal, but, instead of selecting “delivery” select “add to my order”. If your new order is the same name and address as your other orders we will work it out and join them up. If it’s a different name, or different address, let us know and we will join them up for you.

You can text me instead This number is only for texts though because we need to be able to copy and paste names, order numbers, etc into other programs to search for your order, note down any changes to your order etc, this is the quickest and most accurate way of finding orders and answering queries, and means we can search previous messages etc, which we cannot so easily keep track of with voicemail or phone calls. For this reason we don’t answer calls or listen to voicemails left on this number, because when I used to answer them I’d be spending 12+ hours a day answering calls and voicemails and it makes it impossible to get everything else done, so text only please.
