PEBBLE CRAB (Leucosia sp.)
Pebble crabs are small sand sifting crabs. Their body is typically from the size of a 1p coin, to the size of a 10p coin. They can be quite secretive and will burrow in the sand with just their eyes protruding during the day, and then pop out of the sand in the evening and spend all night sifting the sand for tasty things to eat. They get their name from being able to fold up like a Transformer into a pebble shape, and then unfold into a crab shape. They prefer to live on fine sand, roughly as fine as grains of sugar, such as we use in store (also available on our website).
SIZE
They vary in size from a body (carapace) the size of a 1p coin, upto the size of a 10p coin.
COMPATABILITY
Reef safe. They can be kept singly, or in groups. Some fish such as Puffers and Triggers etc may try to eat them.
