Boenak grouper (Cephalopholis boenak).

A very rarely seen species in the UK. One of the smaller grouper species only reaching 12” at full size. Whilst not an aggressive fish they will eat anything they can fit whole into their large mouths. They can grow quickly too, so should only be housed with fish too large to fit in their mouth whole. They can become very tame and make excellent additions to the larger aquarium.

COMPATIBILITY

Safe with all corals. Will eat any fish (and some mobile inverts) if they can fit them whole into their large mouths. Best kept with large and deep bodied fishes that are too tall to fit into their mouth.
