We may video call you or visit to check your tank is a minimum of 1,000 litres. We will not allow this species to go into tanks under 1,000 litres in any circumstances. These are a shoaling fish and so we do not sell specimens individually.
A fairly large and quick growing species of Tang. Although beginners often try to keep single specimens in small tanks this is not recommended. A 1” juvenile with good feeding can reach 9” in as little as 9 months. They are a very active shoaling fish and best kept in groups in larger tanks. Whilst juveniles can be kept briefly in 500 litre tanks, we recommend a minimum tank size of 1,000 litres.
SIZE
Available in a variety of sizes, may eventually reach 10” or a little more.
COMPATIBILITY
Ok with most other fish species. May become aggressive if not given enough space, flow, food, and other members of it’s kind to shoal with.
