Addis butterflyfish (Chaetodon semilarvatus).

A beautiful species endemic to the Red Sea and Gulf of Oman. Most specimens are caught in Oman. Can be kept in pairs or shoals in larger tanks. Safe with some soft corals, but, not reliably so. Singles or pairs will want around 500 litres. Shoals prefer more space, preferable over 1,000 litres.

SIZE

Typically 2” to 4”, may reach up to 6”.

COMPATIBILITY

Reef safe with leather corals and mushrooms.. Peaceful. Easy to keep. Avoid housing with aggressive fish such as Yellow Tangs, which may bully the Butterflyfish. Can be kept singly, in pairs, or, in groups if given enough space.
