Raccoon butterfly (Chaetodon lunula).

One of the easier butterflyfish to keep in a home aquarium. Can be housed with most common small reef fish, but, equally at home with triggerfish and lionfish etc. Typically best kept singly. Can be kept with other butterflyfish with caution. Suitable for tanks from 200 litres upwards. Can be kept with some corals and inverts with caution, but, most often kept in fish only, FOWLR, or fish only with leather coral set ups.

SIZE

Typically grows slowly to 6” in captivity. May sometimes grow a little larger in the wild, but, rarely more than 6” in captivity.

COMPATIBILITY

Generally safe with leather corals, will eat almost all other corals and anemones. Will eat small inverts.
