Falcula butterflyfish (Chaetodon falcula).

One of the easier butterflyfish to keep in a home aquarium. Can be housed with most common small reef fish, but, equally at home with triggerfish and lionfish etc. Can sometimes be kept in groups in very large aquariums if reared from young as a shoal together. Typically best kept singly. Can be kept with other butterflyfish with caution. Suitable for tanks from 200 litres upwards. Can be kept with some corals and inverts with caution, but, most often kept in fish only, FOWLR, or fish only with leather coral set ups.

SIZE

Typically grows slowly to 6” in captivity. May sometimes grow a little larger in the wild, but, rarely more than 6” in captivity.

COMPATIBILITY

Safe with leather and mushroom corals. Generally safe with larger inverts. May eat Zoas, and may eat LPS and SPS corals. May pester anemones. Will eat small inverts.
