Lined butterlyfish (Chaetodon lineolatus).

One of the easier butterflyfish to keep in a home aquarium, and the largest of the Chaetodon species. Can be housed with most common small reef fish, but, equally at home with triggerfish and lionfish etc. Can sometimes be kept as pairs. Can be kept with other butterflyfish with caution. Suitable for tanks from 500 litres upwards. Not reef safe.

SIZE

May reach 12” in the wild, although 8” or so is more common.

COMPATIBILITY

Not reef safe, will eat corals, and small and medium sized inverts. Best suited to a fish only system. Can sometimes be kept as pairs, but, usually kept singly.
